RICE CHINESE RECIPE

Do you know that rice is not only used as staple food but also as the main ingredient of a soup? You may have already heard about rice soup recipes, and it is pretty sure you’ll like to try at least one of the following recipes.
Rice soup can have several variations, the most popular consists in adding chicken to it so it becomes a chicken and rice soup recipe. If you want to try that easy recipe, you need to: put a soup pot over medium heat and add the olive oil; then add onion, garlic, carrots, celery, thyme and bay leaf; cook and stir for about 6 minutes, until the vegetables are softened; then pour in the chicken broth and water; bring the liquid to a boil; then add in the rice and chicken; season with salt and pepper; then cook on medium-low until the rice is tender, about 30 minutes.

Not only regular rice can be used, you can also try recipes with wild rice.
So if you want to try the chicken wild rice soup, you need to: first, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat; stir in onion, celery and carrots and sautee for 5 minutes; add mushrooms and sautee for 2 more minutes; then add flour and stir well; pour in chicken broth, stirring constantly; bring just to a boil, reduce heat to low and let simmer; next, add the rice, chicken, salt, curry powder, mustard powder, parsley, ground black pepper, almonds and sherry.  Let to heat through, then pour in the half-and-half. Let simmer for 1 to 2 hours and your soup is ready.
